Alfredo F. Tadiar

Alfredo F. Tadiar (1930-2015) was a lawyer, judge, law professor and national amnesty commission chair, and founder of alternative dispute resolution in the Philippines.

​Tadiar was a life-long proponent of the ideals of justice, education, and progressive change. He was a champion of women’s rights, legal representation for the poor, the self- determination of peoples, governmental integrity, freedom from colonial oppression, peace and international cooperation.

Tadiar’s authored books and private papers serve as the seed collection for the Library.
