The Alfredo F. Tadiar Library was established in December 2017 in San Fernando, La Union as an independent reading and research library, free and open to the public, with PUÓN serving as its supporting space of public outreach and engagement. The Library’s mission includes the conservation, dissemination, and advancement of knowledge in the social, cultural, and natural history, literature, and broad arts of communities of the Northern Philippines region and its global diaspora, with the aim of fostering self- determination, meaningful civic engagement, creative imagination, social and economic justice, and the improvement and enjoyment of collective life.
It is the project of the Alfredo F. Tadiar Library Council, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit organization. We rely on the generosity of our donors and grantors as well as revenue from PUÓN, our books, arts, & design shop, to support our collections and make it available to the public, free of charge. Please help to support our efforts by becoming a donor or partner of the Tadiar Library.
The Library was conceived to honor the life and work of Alfredo F. Tadiar, and the social life, culture, and history of the peoples of Northern Philippines.
