Film Screenings

In collaborative partnership with PELICULA UNION, a film collective based in La Union, the Alfredo F. Tadiar Library offers free screenings of socially-relevant films at Puón Bookshop. The screenings are often followed by audience discussions with filmmakers and critics.

Workshops

With the support of generous grants, the Alfredo F. Tadiar Library presents a series of free workshops designed to bring in local residents, students, teachers, and other workers as participants in forms of art making, writing, and other cultural practice.

Workshops aim to promote contemporary art and cultural work as a meaningful social practice that foregrounds invisible, marginalized, and everyday lives and cultural heritage of local communities.

Talks & Community Discussions

This series features talks, lectures, readings, and conversations led by invited speakers and guests of the Library to engage audiences in learning about specific topics of social significance. Volunteer-led programming includes Sari-Sarita, a series of community sharing, performance, and discussion of texts from authored books and personal writing and Ummong, a series of creative community jams and sharing of process and practice.
